Use this blog posting to share information about scholarships that you can apply for as a freshman. Please include the URL and a short description of the scholarship.

    This is the Best Buy Scholarship and it is available for kids grades 9-12 who want to go to college full-time. You must commit to volunteer efforts in your community. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required. This scholarship is for 1,000 dollars.

    The link above is a Motivation Ministry Scholorship and it is a scholorship for people that are full-time or part time students that are of the Christian faith. This specific scholorship is worth $1,000.

    The Do Something Awards is available for young Americans or Canadians age 25 or younger. This grant awards $100,000 to one young person trying to change the world in some way by tackling a huge problem. There will be five runner-ups winning $10,000. Deadline is March 1, 2012.

    The link above is for high school students grades 9-11 who are planning to enroll in college. It is called the WordSmart “High School” Scholarship. You must be a legal resident of the United States or an international student with a valid visa. It’s worth $2,000.

    This scholarship is for high school seniors and current college undergraduates who are or planning to attend an accredited college, university, trade or vocational school. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants reside in Michigan, enroll full-time, and be US citizens. The deadline in March 1st and the average award is 3,000 dollars.

    The Don't Be Trashy Scholarship is available to students who are under the age of 25. You must sign up on the Website Above and start and complete a recycling project. Everyone who takes action in the campaign and reports back to DoSomething will be considered for this award.

    This link has a really neat schlorship oppruntunity. This is available for people under the age of 25. You have to complete 3 emission games on facebook. We all play games on Facebook so why not try to play for $1,500 dollars towards college? In order to apply you have to create a PSA about the game.

You must sign up on the sponsor's website and collect and donate gently used jeans to any local Aeropostale store.
